BURGO Fashion Institute at GSC
The Garment Design and Training Services Center GSC partnered up with ‘Istituto di Moda Burgo’ to deliver the Pattern-making and Fashion Sketching programs.
PATTERN MAKING
Pattern making is an art. It is the art of manipulating and shaping a flat piece of fabric to conform to one or more curves of the human figure. Pattern making is a bridge function between design and production. A simple sketch can be turned into a garment via a pattern which interprets the design in the form of the garment components.
FASHION SKETCHING
This 3 month sketching course illustrates all coloring and fashion drawing techniques, opening the door to imagination and consequently the creation of different types of clothes and accessories. During the sketching program the students will be expected to engage in a lot of practical exercises. Although the advent of design technology has made it easier to create sketches, fashion sketching remains one of the first skills a fashion design student must master.
