 The Garment Design and Training Services Center (GSC) with  the support of JModa  has partnered with Instituto di

  Moda  Burgo Fashion School in Milan –Italy which is one of the best Fashion Institutes in Italy and established Burgo

  Fashion School in Amman-Jordan at the beginning of 2012 to provide short and long term Pattern Making and Fashion

  Sketching courses.


 Burgo started as an Italian fashion school in Milan, and has since grown into an international franchise and spread

  worldwide, to Albania, Brazil, Egypt, Italy, Indonesia, Mexico, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Turkey.Burgo has

 also carried out technical collaboration with some of the international fashion schools located in Japan, Switzerland,

  Austria, India and Peru. today, 80 Fashion design schools in cities around the world have been using the system and

  method of Burgo School.

 Burgo received  the ISO Certification for Quality Management Standards (UNI EN ISO 9001:2000) with the caption:

  "  Planning and providing training courses in the field of Fashion” for the seriousness and professionalism always

  demonstrated and excellence in results by the following organization:

 Burgo has developed a training method aimed to optimize and emphasize learning efficiency, having as main objective

  the inclusion of its students into the labour market.


 A 5 year agreement between GSC and Instituto di Moda Burgo Fashion School has been signed to provide the Training

   of Trainers (TOT) and the development and evaluation of the trainers is being done by Burgo in Milan.

 The trainers from Burgo Fashion Institute are trained in Burgo Milan, following their approval, they will  be able to start

  to work at the Burgo School branch. Besides, trainers regularly visit the head office in Piazza San Babila in Milan, to

  follow updated educational courses about the latest fashion trends to ensure an excellent training offer.

Pattern Making Courses

The garment design and training services center (GSC) with the support of JModa has started the new Pattern- making courses at Istituto di Moda Burgo Fashion school / GSC. A Comprehensive program has been implemented from the 15th of January 2012 on 14 students interested in this field and looking to build a new career life.
Pattern making is an art. It is the art of manipulating and shaping a flat piece of fabric to conform to one or more curves of the human figure. Pattern making is a bridge function between design and production. A simple sketch can be turned into a garment via a pattern which interprets the design in the form of the garment components.


Objectives of the Pattern Making Courses

GSC aims at creating a program that will assist individuals who are talented, driven, and interested in this field to find the right platform that will enable them to present a fully fashioned figure on paper.
In addition students will be introduced to the CAD system, Computer-Aided Design software which, for the process of design and design-documentation.


Objectives of the Sketching Courses

The sketching courses illustrate all coloring and fashion drawing techniques, opening the door to imagination and consequently the creation of different types of clothes and accessories. During the sketching program the student will be expected to engage in a lot of practical exercises, will realize hundreds of fashion design drawing and different types of collections, from the autumn-winter to the spring-summer, from evening clothes to wedding gowns.

Burgo Institute Methodology

Burgo methodology is based on a simple and intuitive concept with the main aim of making all types of clothing. From the beginning students will be exposed to real contact with the fabric and thus can create different items of clothing. All the pattern bases are drawn manually, without using pre-made bases.

The instructors at GSC pattern making courses are well-experienced professionals in the garments sector who will monitor and advise each student individually; in addition students will be followed up respecting their own innovation and creativity. Maximum number of 10 students is allowed per teacher.


Implement A Practical Methodology

Burgo’s methodology gives emphasis to manual drawing, as it teaches how to build a pattern from the simplest basis, from which further styles can be developed each student is assisted taking into account his/her individuality. Students also learn to use the CAD system, a computer-aided design software specialized for the clothing industry and mainly used at big clothing factories, for the process of design, grading sizes and design-documentation, A PC station is made available to each student at the course and students are supplied with the Burgo manuals and drawing tools

  • The registration criteria is based on application forms to be filled and submitted to the GSC by the interested students, during the center's working hours (08:00 AM – 04:00 PM); from Sunday to Thursday.
    Early registration, as well as advance cash payment of the whole fee, are entitled to a discount of 10 .
    A discount of 5% is provided for Garment manufacturing companies registering one of their employees. A 10% discount is applied to second employees from the same company.

  • It shall be noted that discounts are not cumulative.


The academic year for the pattern making training courses will start in December 2011 as follows:
